realistic expectation...
Anyone have a realistic expectation on how many miles the OEW RFs can go?.... I can't believe how low the tread rating is!!

I wouldn't worry about it - the wear rating is merely an arbitrary number the manufacturer assigns to it and has little to do with other manufacturer's wear ratings and, in some cases, little relationship to other tires in their own catalog.

I get less than 15k miles out of them. I got 14k on two sets of them on my e90, and am on pace to meet the same figure on the 135i.

I was hoping to get to 20.. but I think I am highly optimistic.. ha ha.. I am at 12 right now and I notice the tread getting low... and the traction control seems to be kicking in more and more these days when I take off from a stop...

I don't think 20K is too optimistic. But it all depends on your driving roads and style. I have 10k at the moment and tread wear is even and about 85%. Most of my driving is stop and go or straight highway, few twisties around these parts, and no time for track.
My parents consistently get 25-30K out of their perf vehicles. My home in Philly was blessed with back country roads, I would chew through a set of perf A/S within 20k in my old E46 and A4. If you do a lot of highway, don't push it too often and stay on top of your alignment and camber you can make 'em last. |

I got almost 30,000 miles out of the 050A tires on a Z4 with one rotation, using 2/32" as the min. tread depth. Without rotating, it would have been about 17k rear and 35 k front.
