18's or 19's
I am about to drop a good amount of coin on forgeline wheels, but I am little worried. I want 19's but would be satisfied with 18's. The thing that scares me about 19's is rubbing issues, though the people at forgeline said that 19's wouldn't rub and they have a perfect fitment, I trust them with that. But will my car sit up like a monster truck or would i need to lower it to look right? And if I lower it, forgeline says to get camber plates, then i have heard of people having to roll fenders. I don't mind the stock suspension on 18's, i think it looks fine, if i were to lower it, it wouldn't be much. I fear lowering my car because I hate scraping and I don't want to lose ride quality, every time I have lowered my vehicles, the ride becomes worse and I scrape on everything.
Should I just order 18's and leave the suspenion alone? Or, should I get 19's and spend even more money getting it to look right? Any comments and pics and advice from people with such set ups would be greatly appreciated. |

I personally would get 18" wheels then lower it as well. The 1 series is one of the only cars that looks good with 18" wheels and 19" wheels IMO. I would suggest doing what feels the best. I would suggest getting wheels first, then looking at the car to see if you really want to drop it as well.

Look around the forums and find some pics 1ers with 19's (silverbullit has 19's). I think the 135 looks great with 19's. They really fill out the wheel well.

18's would look perfect but you can go with 19's if you like. You will have to be careful with 19's though. The reason is because of the design/profile of the car, certain 19's will look a little off (i.e. too big). For wheels like CSL, you can go with either size and be fine.

Depends on how you want the car to ride. Although the 19's in most styles will look nice, you lose approximately half an inch in sidewall height to maintain the same overall diameter (preventing your car from looking like a monster truck). Now, that half-inch may not seem like much, but you will have a stiffer ride due to the shorter sidewall. You will notice pits, potholes, seams in the road that much more.
