Tire Pressure Sensor and Snow Tires

I was wondering if anyone knew if the tire pressure sensor on the 135i would act up when putting new rims w/ snow tires on. Obviously since I would be putting on new rims w/o a sensor the car will not be able to monitor the tires, but will an alarm constantly be going off?

And I assume BMW didn't put anything stupid like not letting the car start w/ the sensor off.

Just a bit concerned before I shell out some cash if anyone could help I would appreciated it a bunch.

You'll just have a light on, on the dash.
