A hello and production question
First allow me to say hello and i'm glad to be joining to site.
I am from the north dallas area, and 2 weeks ago ordered a: 2009 135i AW/Coral red/gray poplar Sport + premium manual hi-fi HD+Sirius now for my question, i was just informed this morning by my sales rep that my car went into production this morning and gave me the last 7 of the VIN however, I have not been able to enter the production code/VIN in bmwusa.com yet, keeps telling me it's not yet in the system how long does this take? Thanks in advance! |

I seem to recall it's a few days behind. Calling the toll free number will always give you more up to date information.

Also, don't be surprised when you enter the number and it shows the wrong color combo. This is normal and it should all work itself out after some time.

I found that there was a two week lag between recieving a VIN and the vehicle actually finishing production, then another week or so for transportation to the port, then about 28 days shipping... yea, it sucks waiting.

Hi from another North Dallasite!
I found that the online system was way behind, the 800 number was much more useful. If you don't have it: 800.831.1117 You can use your VIN or production number. |

When obsessive impatience sets in, as it has with most of us addicts, go to the forum on Ordering, Pricing, Options, Tracking Discussions.
There you will find out how to track your car from the factory to its US port.

It took forever for me to be able to enter my production number in my car. I'm doing ED and it was only a few days before it was supposed to start production that I was able to add it on the owners circle.
However, I will say that the folks at the 800 number were very friendly and understanding about my concerns about traveling a good portion around the world and wanting to ensure that the car would be ready. :w00t: The listing still isn't right in the owners circle either. It doesn't list the smart phone integration and it shows me as having the wheel with the paddles - though I ordered a manual. :iono: But I've double checked the order with my center and they've confirmed it's ordered as requested. It better be. Or they'll have one angry six foot two inch, 220 lbs son of a most German ancestors on their hands. Like the Hulk says, they wouldn't like me when I'm angry. LOL! |

thanks all
the VIN finally worked on the site today, so now instead of being impatient everyday, I can be impatient while staring at the same status all day! |

Definitely use the 800 number. Much more up to date than the website. Use the tracking info also!! I love the color choices you made. I guess great minds think alike!!
