scratch on mag

I've had my 1er for about 5-6 weeks, and I had to get my first scratch today!!

I was driving into an indoor parking lot and my rear wheel on the right touched the curb slightly.

It's a small scratch on the outer edge of the mag.

Yes, I am acting a little crazy. It hardly shows, but I need to know if there is a way I can fix it!

Anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to fix it?

Please help a fellow 1 brother!

I had a rock or something really gouge and scratch up my right rear wheel!!!!

I gently filed down the gouges and then took bright silver touch up paint and filled it in and blended it with polishing compound. It looks OK from a few feet away. Most people wouldn't notice BUT I SURE DO!!!

There is a sticky on how to repair the wheel. There are wheel shops that can fix it if you are not the DIY kind of guy. The price is not all that bad and you can not tell it was repaired. If this is your first car with low profile tires I hope you learned your lesson. I did it once and my wife did it once in 2000. Neither of us have done it since.

My Z4 was so low the front the air dam would not clear those concrete parking stops and my wife (at least I blamed it on her  )cracked the grille in the air dam by hitting one. Luckily our 1 series clears these park stops so that is one thing I do not have to fix.

Damn, a low air dam like that would drive me nuts.

Thanks for the reply. I can see there is some hope for the mag!!

What paint did you use? I had the same thing happen.

i think if i were in that situation i would do the DIY thing that was mentioned above, the results shown were pretty amazing, it won't be perfect, but that's pretty damn close...and cheap!

Bavauto.com has a silver wheel touch up pen that matches perfectly.

Paint Pen lets you color in scratches as easily as using a marker. Inside this easy-to-use, felt-tip pen is high-quality urethane paint that matches the BMW color precisely. Just shake the pen and press down to start the paint flowing. Once the tip is soaked, "color" in the blemish as if you were using a crayon.
