Newbie needs some shipping help from the more experienced members

Maybe someone on here with more experience with bmw's shipping time lines can help me out here. My car is waiting for the boat right now. When I ordered the car @ sept 9th, production finished @ sept 26th, they said the earliest day I could do PCD was Nov 21st (when I ordered the car). Seems kinda long now that the car is already waiting for the boat. Does anyone think I can get them to move it up? (They seem to be ahead of schedule) It seems REALLY long that I would have to wait almost 6-7 weeks when the car is already sitting at the dock waiting for the boat (confirmed on 800 #). I can't wait any longer, any info that would help me be more informed when speaking with my CA tomorrow would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys. Anyone else with an 09 waiting too here?? :bangdesk:

i ordered around 9/10 and my '09 finished production 9/19 and arrived at port 9/23. I spoke with a very friendly Jane at BMW NA and she said it takes about a week to get on a ship (so it should be by tonight for me) and then you have to wait for it to go through panama canal (3-4 weeks), and then through customs which she said could take anywhere between 1-4 weeks before arriving in San Diego. I'm away at school while the car gets delivered to my hometown so I was planning on picking up probably around Thanksgiving

of course this only applies if you're taking west-coast delivery

Sounds about right, it can take forever to get on a ship. The probably take the latest date it is guaranteed to be there and schedule you in the next available spot after that.

Actually, it looks like the next ship destined for Port Hueneme, CA (for west coast deliveries) won't leave until the 6th, so if your car isn't already on the Grand Neptune or the Isolde, there's still another week of waiting at the port :/
