Will Stock tires work with CSL reps?
Hey gang,
Just curious, If I get some 18" CSL wheels, would the 215/40/18 stock front tire work with the 8.5" wide CLS wheel, or is the tire to narrow for the wheel? Also, would the 245/35/18 stock rear tire work with the 9.5" wide rear CSL? Any help is appreciated. Ryan |

New tires will allow you to rid of those god-awful runflats as well.

Just to make sure everyone is on the same page... Using the stock run-flat tires on CSL 18"s is not recommended by us. We like to run just a bigger tire in the front because running a 215mm-width tire on a 8.5" rim will stretch the tire out (meaning the width of the wheel is bigger than the tire).
The best example I can give is this picture: NOTE: This is not what the 215 size tire will look on the 8.5" wheel. This is just an extreme example of what stretched tires look like. *EXAMPLE!* Now, to be quite honest, you can absolutely run those tires in front, if you WANT to, it's just a recommendation (as Tom says above) that you run a bit bigger tire in the front. I hope this helps everyone curious about the CSL wheels |
