The 7.5 is a little narrow for the 235 tread width. That said I put over 200K miles on my ///M3 with 235 on 7.5's on all four corners. Several drivers events, numerous auto X's and lots of twisty mountain roads and never had any issues.

That size is outside of manufacturer specifications for that wheel width, so the tire companies are telling you that it won't fit.
Many people run that size on that rim with no issues.....but if there is an issue, which there could be at any time, everyone is going to look at you and say, "I told you it didn't fit." It all boils down to whether you are comfortable with the risk. Gill

That is correct. 235/40/17, but that doesn't change the math.:iono:
It is odd they would do that and open themselves to a host of issues if there were problems.
