runflats and gts-r?
Hey everyone just a qucik question--can I switch my stock runflats and sensors to the Breytons gts-r?
I went to BMW yesterday and they said I can't do that cause the rims has to be a runflat rim, blah blah blah.....I don't believe them. anyone know? thx |

What a load of BS. I hate it when dealers talk out of their ass. You can run whatever tire you want on your car and the sensors will transfer over to the GTS-R.

If that was the case then TireRack would have something specific about what wheels could handle runflats and that isn't happening.

No such thing as a runflat rim so you know they are full of shit. German law? Maybe they are talking about TUV... Are the stock US spec wheels even TUV approved?
My guess is they just do not want to install a non-BMW part on your car. Some dealerships have internal policies like that. :iono: Take it to an independent. Your dealership probably would have put the balancing weights on the outside of the wheels anyway. :wink: edit: just realized you are overseas.. maybe they really can't install the GTS-R because it is not TUV approved. That sorta makes sense.. edit again: just took a look at the wheel on tirerack.com and it has the TUV approved stamp, so I'm back to my original conclusion: they are full of shit.
