Calling all who did Performance Center Delivery

I have a question of you all that will really help me out alot. Question is as follows: How did you guys get your Temporary Tag to drive your new baby home? Did your dealer issue you one, did you have to go to the DMV, or did the folks at the Performance Center Delivery issue you one? I ask because my delivery of July 24th got pushed back to August 5th because I had no tag, and now I might not even have my temporary tag ready for August 5th because my Client Advisor won't have the necessary paperwork ready again (I've already lost my airplane reservations without being able to get a refund once ). Help, I need a temp. tag!!!!!

Good question. I thought typically dealerships issued 30 day temp tags that you can use while the owner finalizes stuff at the DMV. The last car I bought, the dealership had plates on-site that they just match with a car and give you at time of sale (if you want to avoid the DMV lines). Of course you wouldn't do that if you are looking for vanity plates.

I think my CA is supposed to be doing the registration before hand and then will send the actual plates down to SC for them to put on. Hopefully it works that way.

Did they push your date back before the 3 week window started (they told us not to book travel until 3 weeks prior to your date)? I will be going down in mid-Sept for PCD and it would really, really, really, be inconvenient for them to push the date for a number of reasons.

My CA made up a dealer temp tag like they would for a vehicle sold off the lot. He laminated it and sent it on down with me. Also sent a copy of the bill of sale just to make sure everything went smoothly.

My CA at the dealership had no problem securing me a 30 day tag which I just took with me down to the PCD. I would make it a point to speak with someone above your CA if you've already had so many problems and lost money on a plane ticket.

My CA gave me a temp tag to take with me to PDC...but stupid me...I left it at home. No big deal...they issued me a temp from SC...no fees involved. They said they do it all the time.

Same here - my dealer gave me a temp tag before I left for Spartanburg.

Same thing. Temporary paper tag, threw it in my carry-on and had them mount it at the Performance Center. My CA got it for me about a week before I actually left.

My CA had my real plates 5 days after we completed the sale, so I took them to SC with me. I can't imagine there's any reason your dealership couldn't have issued a temp tag for your July delivery date... makes me think something else wasn't done properly & they used the tag as smoke & mirrors.

Likewise, my CA gave me real CT plates to take down to the PC.

PC staff put them on my car (rear plate only ) for delivery.

The Performance center issued me a temp tag. It was good for a month. I used it for about 2 weeks after I got back before I went to the dealer and had my plates transferred.
