If there was just the 128 would you still have bought a bmw

I find the 135 is more popular for the obvious. Would all you 135i owners still have bought a 1 if there was no 135i? Personally I would have purchased a 335i, the twin turbo is what sold me, along with the one's ride and the look of the 135i. The look of the 128 just does not strike me the way the 135i does.

Did you mean "obvious" (which doesn't make much sense grammatically) or "oblivious" (which kinda does)..

Despite the 128 being a great vehicle I would have opted for a 335i coupe. The 335i vert is just too heavy for me so I would have forgone the open air driving.

I just need that engine.

are you sure that the bloated 335 is more fun to drive than the 128 notwithstanding the better power to weight ratio? i personally have compared a 335 coupe with step and sp to the 128 with manual and sp and much prefer the 128(granted the stick is a big part of that).

No. The 3-series has gotten too porky for me, including the Coupes. Maybe the 3.0 Z4 Coupe. I am coming from a Mini Cooper S, so until the Alfa MiTO arrives there really was nothing else striking my fancy. I am getting a low spec 128 with just the sport package and some used 135 18" wheels. I am paying 31K which would not get me even into a nicely optioned Mini JCW.

probably would have gotten an audi a5. hate to say it, but it's twice as sexy as the 1er and the interior puts bmw to shame. too bad it was nowhere near as fun to drive, more expensive, and less powerful.

Yep, driven both and the power of the TT engine outweighs the lighter vehicle.

The 335xi coupe however was horrible.

I hear you about the look of the A5/S5.

I was all set to buy an S5 until I found out it was a 2 year waiting list.

I was looking at a JCW Mini CooperS when I decided to get the 135i instead. I also was looking into a used M3.

I would've either gotten a used M3 or a new Z4. Horsepower is what sold me on the 135i. The 335i is just too long, I like having space in the garage...In any case the 135i is the perfect car for me...........

I would be in a ZCP (Competition Package) E46 M3, if it were not for the 135i. I probably could have gotten a decent, low mileage CPO one for the same as I paid for the 135i.

I would have bought a CPO E46 M3 vert for about the same price as a new 135i vert. It is the engine and the soft top that sold me.

I would have gotten the 128 if it had been the only choice. It really is a great car.

Good question. I was originally looking for a used E46 M3 or a new 350Z, so I probably would have stuck with one of those unless I found a good deal on a Z4 M Coupe.
