What's in the trunk (i.e. someone stole my toolkit)
So I picked up my car after waiting 7 weeks after my ED dropoff.
Unfortunately, when I got home I realized that someone stole the little toolkit that comes with the car. (They left the toe hook, which was nice of them.) Some my question is, can someone give a rundown of what's in the toolkit, and anything else that should be in the trunk so I can yell at my dealer today? |

I had the same thing happen to me, it was the one thing I forgot to take so I e-mailed Dan at United to see how much it would cost to replace it. Still deciding if it is worth it to replace it. These prices are after our 1Addicts discount:
Bag $11.42 Towing Hinge $19.55 Screw Driver $3.94 End Spanner $4.50

i just got a scredriver and a tow hook in that bag, so not a big deal, sounds like all you lost was the bag and the screwdriver

I got a first aid kit and the warning triangle.....but I live in germany and we are required to have these in the car no matter if they are european spec or american spec but it doesnt seem like it got added extra....I think what happens is sometime between the cars leaving the production plant to ending up in your possesion someone conviently takes it out and sells it

before you beat him...pull out your manual and flip to page 127-128....Why the hell would BMW put in a section on First Aid pouch and Warning Triangle in the Manual and not give them to you..... Also to anyone that did not get a tool kit or only got a Tow Hook and did not do ED go to your dealer and demand they give them to you free because they were to come with the car!
The manual states : Onboard tool kit The onboard tool kit is stored beneath the floor panel in the cargo bay. and im assuming if you werent suppose to get something it would look like page 125: The tools for changing wheels are available as optional accessories from your BMW center In the manual neither the tool kit, first aid kit, nor the warning triangle say that |
