Remote Keyless Entry Standard in 128i Convertible?

Pardon if this has already been asked and answered, but I couldn't find any mention of this here or in the Standard Equipment list in the BMWUSA section.

Is a keyless remote standard equipment in a 128i convertible?
(no comfort access).

Yes for the doors, trunk and fuel filler - but Convenient Access is required to operate the top and windows from the remote.

Thanks Tom. Does the fob look like the fob for comfort access in the brochure?

As far as I know, the fob and the key which fits in the fob are the same. The main difference is that with Convenient Access, the fob only comes out of my pocket when I want to remotely operate the top. Also, the normal fob battery recharges from the ignition, but the CA fob battery is replaceable.

I'd recommend the CA option for the convertible, as well as the Park Distance Control to help offset the relatively poor rear vision with the droptop.

There's just the one fob, and it's the main key for the car. There is a cut key inside of it that you can use on the driver's door and glovebox if you really want to. But to start the car, you just put the fob into the slot on the dash and push the Start button.

But if you're getting the convertible, please get Comfort Access so you won't keep kicking yourself like I do. If only I could put the top down while walking to the car. *sigh*

i second what amy said -- the CA for the convertible is cool -- really impressive to open/close the top.
