1 > 3

Nice update on Edmunds. Power, Handling, Size, all just right on our 135's. For less $$$ the 1 > 3 where it counts as far as a BMW enthusiast buyer goes IMO.

"Anyhow, this little Bavarian rocket truly is special. I drove it over Angeles Crest Highway one night last week and was able to appreciate its abilities on many levels. A few observations: 1) It has excellent headlights. Never once did I wish for more reach or coverage. With the high beams on I could comfortably see far enough to keep up with my rapid pace. 2) The handling difference between this car and a 335i is significant enough to matter. If you're considering the 1 and don't need the 3's additional space, don't bother spending the money. 3) The looks are growing on me. I'll never love the details, but the proportions are right."

Yes, the long-term has been very appreciative of the 1. It is funny how things have changed from the initial review when there was no need to get the 1-series because it was so close to the 3 in pricing.

I never understood those reviews that dismissed the 1 just because it wasn't as cheap as they were "hoping" for. Who cares? Once you drive it you can tell the difference between it and the 335i coupe.

the Bavarian never did underswtand cupholders. I suppose when you're driving at 135 around a sharp turn, you shouldn't be sipping Starbucks.

Of course there is. You have to justify that you bought something that's porkier, more costly and not as dynamic as the 1.
