Sick of waiting for my 135, so...

...this Sat AM I was scanning the eBay R8 ads and found a private party sale 5 hours away in Cleveland, so my wife (who absolutely rocks) said lets pack up the kiddies and make a weekend out of it...

...so we drove to see it Sat night, stayed in a hotel, drove back sunday (stopping at the Newport aquarium on the way back for the girls), and this afternoon, I flew to Cleveland, and just got back from driving it home, 400+ miles later

Too late to get pix up, but I will tomorrow. It's daytona grey/matching blades, black/alcantara int, 6 spd.

My ordered one should be here in 2-3 months, at which point I will likely sell this one (or keep it and sell the red one incoming, but likely I'll keep that one).

In the meantime, my 135 has been sitting on a military sales dealer lot in Germany for 3 weeks awaiting the bill of sale/C of O before clearing customs to allow it to ship here so I can see it (I paid for it a month ago). ETA is 3-4 MORE weeks.

But the R8....what a car. I am speechless.......should have done this MONTHS ago!!!

BTW...I'm about 10-15 min from Newport...hope you enjoyed the Levee!!

sure. here are some I took this weekend while looking at it at the previous owner's place, but they really don't do it justice. it's so much more amazing in person.

That's one great car. I was lucky enough to get into one about a month ago. The interior of that car is very nice and the glass engine bay cover is so hot.
