baby/child car seats

anyone try one out in the vert yet? got pix? is there much room for one (or better yet two)? was hoping I could take the kiddies out for ice cream in it (and eat there so as to not spill on the leather!)

have done 1 child seat and a 105 lb dog. Had to put the seat behind the passenger side though as there is not much room. Have not done 2 seats yet, but it would fit width wise.

ky_soldier, how old are your kids? Do they need a booster or full seat? I use the oto that you can find here. There's also another thread with lots of car seat suggestions if you need the full seat.

Okay, in that case at the bottom of the thread below you'll find some nice recaro car seats that people have installed.

The Clek boosters work great for my kids who are 8 and 6 and it doesn't take up much room at all. It also installs and removes in seconds.

Only Attaches from the Latches

You don't have the back seat hook, so it only attaches from the 2 latch clips. My son is 3.5 and daughter is 2. He should be moving to a booster shortly, he just hit the 3' mark.

Here's my post from an earlier thread. I'll try to post pics of the seats some time this weekend.

Both of my kids use booster seats. In my wife's 128i Convertible, we have two Recaro Vivo booster seats (http://recaro.com/index.php?id=3330&region=3&L=2). The seats are the perfect size, and we have no problems fitting the seats or buckling the kids when they're in the seats. So far, the seats are working out well, and my kids have no complaints about the seats.

I tried several different booster seats before sticking with the Recaros. The extended wings on the headrest work very well so that your child's head and body don't tilt over when they fall asleep--a fairly annoying problem I've had with other manufacturers' booster seats. The side impact protection adds to the peace of mind.

Prior to using the Recaros, I had taken an Evenflo booster--this was to be replaced by the Recaro regardless of whether it fit in the 128i vert because of its lousy design--and a Britax Marathon to the dealership. The car could not accomodate both of these in the back seats because of the width of the seats. With both Recaros in the back seat there is still room between the boosters.
