This is not another price issue thread, I swear...
Well maybe I lie.
I was talking to a co-worker who took me down to the garage at work to show me his brand new 335i convertible (loaded with the '19 performance wheels too). He said he saw the 135i sitting inside on the showroom floor and he quite liked it. Talking to the sales guy he said that they're having trouble moving them because the car is priced out of reach of the "kind of people" that would like to buy it. You can't really blame BMW for having priced the car the way they did, it's a tremendous value. Then again you can't expect most folk to see in this car what we do. |

The think the 128 price is a little high compared to some other brand but the 135 is priced just right. I can't imagine why someone would buy an STI or an EVO for $40000 when the 135 is right there.

becasue alot of people really dont care about ride comfort or interior build quality. and some actually resent bmw for some reason not to mention that an EVO with a few mods with RAPE one of our 135's (especially around a track) |

a couple of mods on a 135i would RAPE a EVO in a straight line and around the track.

The things is this, BMW makes it's profits on the amount of options customers equip their cars with. This is why you have such a high degree of personalization in building your own BMW, also another contributor as to the reason why the price can go up so easily with just a few options selected. Smart move on BMW's part, sucky for those that can't get what they want, or do they? It is a BMW after all.

That's the last time I would ever speak with that idiotic "Sales Guy". He actually used the term "The kind of people"??? I think of that quote and it makes me think of the BMW stereotype. What an elitist snotty little porcupine barb.
Maybe it isn't the drivers who give this car the persona. It's possible that it's the "Sales Guy"s like this. |

Lot's of people can't afford an STi, EVO, or whatever either despite the fact that they'd like to own one. What's the diff here?
I'm sure the sales guy probably meant he wished the car really was more affordable than it turned out to be, so he could sell more of them to the "kinds of people" (enthusiasts) who think it's the kind of car worth buying. You have admit it's kind of a tough sell to anybody besides the car lunatics that hang out around here, being what it is. |
