Anyone's order taking forever to go into production?
Hi all - just wanted to check if anyone has run into the same issue I have with my 135 order.
I placed it over a month ago now, dealer claims they put it in their order system, but the thing still hasn't gone into production. I read that they cut allocations - maybe mine went in just at the wrong time? I'm also not sure if it's something with my particular configuration that is holding it up - I didn't order anything weird though, just: SGM, Savannah Beige, Gray Poplar, Prem, Sport, Heated Seats, iPod, + Comfort Access. If anyone has any thoughts, info or is in the same boat - I would appreciate it. Thanks. |

Did you even get a production # yet? The dealer you bought from may not have any allocations.

Do you have a production number? Do yourself a favor and get the production number and build week from your dealer. Ask for a print out of your vehicle status. They will have that information and will/should give that to you.

Still waiting for an allocation here. It turns out that my dealer didn't get any 128i allocations this round, so I may be looking at a July build now. ugh. (I started this thing at the end of April)

I ordered in late March and had to wait a month for an allocation. I'm finally expecting it to arrive next week. Strange thing about allocations - some areas have more than they can sell while others are backed up for months. If you are in a remote area you may not have too many options. Luck of the draw.

In the same boat here. Placed my order on May 6, received a VIR w/Priority 1-Customer Sold status but won't get a production number until mid-July with anticipated delivery date of mid-Aug. Checked back last week and confirm the same after my CA flipped through several pages of orders (not all 1s of course) and found my name on the last page (should have seen the expression on my face as he was flipping through the pages). And this is with two BMW dealers within 5 miles north and south of me on the same freeway.
Guess we just happened to be in markets where allocations are far and few between. If there's any consolation, I understand that those w/confirmed orders placed before May 9 should be protected by price increases that went into affect on June 1. Hang in there, our time will come! Oh, and do yourself a favor -- STAY AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIPS while you wait. Saw someone taking delivery of their AW 135 this evening. Nearly wanted to break down and cry -- just makes the wait that much longer! |

Now I've read that allocations are given two months in advance. Does this mean that all slots are filled before the new model year? There's the factory close in August... and shouldn't those with slots have a production number? Crazy, indeed.

Ordered March 27, production finished on May 6, still on the boat.
Looks like the main priority is how much money makes BMW on your car. Faster delivery for 135 vs 128 and loaded vs unloaded. |

Phew ... it's kind of a relief to read this, I ordered May 4th, got my PR# the next week, but still haven't got my VIN/build date. Then you see these other lucky #%^#$%^'s get theirs built within a week of two after ordering.
So at least I'm not alone ... Thought I might start a Poll and see how long people wait from order to build on average.
