Question Hum... Taupe Boston Leather Or Savanna Beige Boston Leather? They Look Very Similar..

This is the person who is lock, stock, and barrel sold on the Jet Black exterior and the lovely Lemon interior on my yet to arrive 135i. I honestly realize that this combination will end me up in Belview Psyche eventually... just tryin' to keep it clean. I'm looking on the BMW American site and noticed that they offer interior swatches of Taupe Boston Leather or Savanna Beige Boston Leather; they look identical on the swatch.

What, if any is there a difference between these two different Leather options? I hate to do this to ya but who has a Taupe Boston interior on their vehicle? And who has Savanna Beige? It would be nice if I could see either one posted on this board !!

Would someone be kind enough to post photo's of your vehicle if you have either interiors so I (and all of you...) can see the difference, and comment? :w00t:

:headbang:...a side by side pic or top by bottom pic comparison would be really neat but not absolutely necessary, and...

...my last request would be any of you Jet Black or Sapphire Black owners with these interiors, please please post...

Marty

P.S. This will post in one other Forum...

Oh, there is a big difference because Savanna is a two-tone black-and-tan, whereas with Taupe, it's all taupe except the dash.

I also went with the two tone look. I like the color splash on the doors.

....a few weeks! woo hoo...on the Emden now!

but seriously...the BMWUSA website has the wrong thumbnail for savanna beige (they use the taupe)....they ARE much different colors. Plus (as others have noted) the Beige is a two toned with black vs. the Taupe being one solid color (much more "milky" to borrow someone's description)...I would honestly check them both out in person...it's always the best way to decide if you can live with it...

I agree.

The Savanna is essentially the seats and the central door panels in a more natural-looking beige leather. (IIRC, headliner in Coupe)

The Taupe is almost everything, including carpet and all the plastic, in a light (and somewhat unnatural color) beige. Except the upper part of the dash is in black. The split dash color bugs me. I definately don't like beige plastic everywhere, and the lower half of the dash to be in beige. The Taupe is cheaper looking, IMO. I prefer the entire dash in black.

When it comes to all the other plastic stuff, it just looks better when it's black, IMHO.

That's why Savanna looks better to me.

I ordered mine in Taupe and the day I saw SB I tried to get my order changed but it was to far into production.

I would go with SB in a heartbeat.

Savannah Beige all the way. I'm not a huge fan of the monotone interiors schemes unless it's black of course.

SB gets matching headliner. Lemon gets Alaska gray. If it matters.

BTW, big fan of the two-tones here, too. I guess Lemon even gets you three.

Is Savanna Beige as light as it is in the picture above? It almost looks as light (or as white I should say) as lemon; I like it but is that a true representation of the color? Does anyone have a lemon interior? ...and if so, is it impossible to keep clean? I should probably post this as a new thread, I may just do that.

Not at all. Savanna is a natural beige, not an off-white.

So, there may be a chance that the photo is wrong?

That photo of the savanna from 128er looks quite light, almost white. Is it possible that that may be Lemon and not Savanna?

How would you know? Your thoughts?

It's Savanna in a very washed out photo. How do I know?... The headliner is the giveaway.

Yes that is my car. It is showing up lighter in the picture. Savannah is the best. The two tone is very classy.

well that's not fair, coral red makes red trim, black dash, and grey headliner

I like how that headliner matches the rest of the interior
