128i vs 135i resale in time?
I couldn't find a corresponding forum and since this deals w/ price.. I guess close enough.
So I'm debating the 128i vs 135i. I'm a little bit of a tunning enthusiast and would like to sorta get out of it (very expensive and doesn't pay). But.. when I compare the 128i vs the 135i I think of other cars that were also twin turbos. Their resale has always held up far beyond their natural aspirated twins.. the supra, 300zx, eclipse, talon, 3000gt vr4 etc.. etc.. so even though the price of the 135i is a little more than I would like to spend and more power than I want to put pound my lead foot into.. I'm beginning to think the resale value in 4yrs would yield a better % difference vs the 128i? opinions?? |

I would think that the 135i would retain it's value better than the 128i as it's generally a more desirable car for enthusiasts.
I compare this with a subaru imprezza, where the WRX would retain it's value better than a standard imprezza. I sold my MY02 WRX for 77% of it's original value. Having said this, I would think that the 128i would also retain it's value well as it is priced competitivly and would be even better value on the second hand market Therefore because of it's lower price this car would be in demand as it would be desirable for anybody who is buying a BMW for the first time |

If I am not mistaken the residual value on a 128 at the end of a 3 year lease is 1 or 2 % higher than a 135 on the same lease. How that will correspond to a resale, I don't think that can be answered yet.
