Should I drive it?
Dealer just emailed me and said they have a 135i convertible available for test drive. Should I go down there and give it a whirl? Or will driving one now only make the last few weeks of my wait completely unbearable?
As I've mentioned before, I ordered this car blind. I've never seen one, and I've never driven one. However I'm committed to getting the car so test driving it is not going to change my mind one way or another. It'll basically be a joy ride to hold me over until my car actually gets here. Dan |

i test drove the 135i twice. Once was a coupe and the second was a vert. The coupe was great the vert was a little disappointing. i dont know why but the vert felt less powerful. it's probably just me but i didnt feel the pull i felt when i floored it in the coupe vs. the vert.

Don't drive it.........Save yourself for YOUR car.
It will be worth the wait

Wait. I know I want the first 135 I drive to be mine. However, I did ride along while I made my wife drive.

Save yourself? Sounds like misguided sexual education. Maybe this other 'car' does things your 'car' doesn't do. It is a Vert after all! Driving this other 'car' will make you appreciate your 'car' even more. Drive as many 'cars' as you can. No sub context intended.

This depends entirely on how much patience you have. Not only do you need to wait for your car's delivery; you also need to wait until the end of the break-in period to truly see what the engine can do.
Since you ordered a coupe it may also be your only chance to drive a 135i convertible for quite a while. |

I think I'm going to head up there on Monday or Tuesday and give it a whirl. I know it wont be exactly the same as what I'm getting but I'd like to at least know that I test drove one before I sign the paperwork.

No I was more worried that driving one now would make the last few weeks of waiting that much harder. At this point I don't what I'm missing. After I drive it I will.

Yes you should drive it. Have fun with the dealer demo car and see what it can do. Once you get your car, you're gonna have to baby it during the break in period.

that's a good perspective. drive the demo to get the aggressive driving streak out of your system and to learn what you and the car are capable of together. then drive your own car softly during the break in period.
