Awaiting transport 2 weeks??

My car had a finished production date of April 28
It has been sitting on the dock since
I know I've read some people had similar issues
Does anyone know if this is the norm?

And how long does it usually take to make it over to the US?

Mine finished on 4/17 and didn't catch a boat until 5/5, so it can sit there for a while.

I think it is somewhat normal. First it seems to actually take about 4 or 5 days to get from the factory to the port. And then it can take a week or two or more to get on a boat. Mine was completed on the 28th too and I'm also still waiting at the port.

FWIW, mine waited for a boat for about 16 days, but the total time from order to delivery was only 45 days (6 1/2 weeks). And the wait was worth it.

Mine was done 5/19/08 maybe I will catch the same boat. It makes sense that a boat could hold several weeks production. So some wait and some drive right on and go.

My car was built while BMW still had their old OC website which listed the VIN#. The only thing I ever got from the dealer was the production number. I believe that you can call the 800# and talk to a person and they can give you the VIN# based on the production number.

Mine took exactly two weeks from getting there to getting on a ship out. Hang in there.

They carry other European brands as well. This article...

http://www.mwerks.com/artman/publish...cle_1296.shtml

talks about a ship that had really rough seas that damaged some cars and it mentions that the ship was also carrying Mercedes and VWs.
