Four for a Roadtrip ? Back-seat passengers begging for mercy?
Anyone take a roadtrip yet with all 4 seats occupied ? in either the 128i or 135i ?
Were the backseat passengers begging to escape ?? or was everyone cozy but comfortable? how about in the (even tighter) convertible ?? and did the engine handle the load ok ? ....things to ponder until I take delivery !!! Thanks!

well, i never really thought about that cuz i know i'll always be in the driver seat but i did have some friends in the back seat and they did say it would be a little cramp if we went on a road trip. and we're talking about 4 petite girls.

90% of the time I'll be the only one in the car, but occasionally, there'll be a need to use all 4 seats so.... I just wondered if anyone's had people in those back seats yet for an extended drive...and was it bearable?

Depends on the type of road trip. I put my adult female sized kids in back occasionally, and the only complaint I get is that there is no grab handles back there, for off-ramp/on-ramp duty. I wouldn't do a vacation drive up to Montreal in it for four. That might be cruel and unusual punishment.

Even if you fit 4 people in the car, imagine trying to fit all the bags in the trunk. I don't know about your friends, but personal experience has taught me that women don't travel light LOL

I just did a 4 day trip to NYC and Philly (from Boston) with my wife and 17 y.o. daughter, and there was plenty of room for more luggage. Just don't use that hard sided stuff. There's more room back there than you might think.

It's easier to rent a minivan for long trips. We rented one to drive to FL for a wedding and it was great for that purpose. Not to mention you don't have to worry about rock chips or what people are doing to it in the hotel parking lot.

Whoa.....this thread has taken a whole different tangent than I expected!
OK.... so no roadtrips to Montreal..... But it sounds like I could pile 4 in for a trip down the Mass Pike to catch a Sox Game, without anyone suffocating back there !? (GO SOX!) P.S. > But this sort of news could change someone's mind about riding in back ! : "Economy class syndrome" is a term for the risk of blood clots from sitting in cramped airplane seats for long periods of time. A blood clot known as deep vein thrombosis can develop in the veins of the leg as a result of sitting still in a cramped position for hours. In many cases, these clots dissolve on their own, but Senay says they can be very dangerous if they break away and travel through the bloodstream to the lungs, where they can get stuck and cause a potentially fatal pulmonary embolism......" http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/...in587488.shtml

Take note that pwillcutts is getting a Cabrio, I have no problem with leg room in the back seat but my manly broad shoulders are a bit of a problem in the Cabrio. My daughter is 5'4" and about 100 pounds and she has no issue with the shoulder room or leg room.

With the wife and two kids (fifteen and eight), no problem whatsoever! There's plenty of room to share on the passenger side. Behind the driver is the worst seat in the house, but it's still do-able.
Four large adults? That's a different story. They should make intermittent pit stops to stretch out. BTW, don't underestimate the trunk. It'll surprise you.

Four petite girls... you should've got a Vert Kbimmer. Oh, and your post needs pictures.
Um, back on topic, I don't have my car yet so I have no useful information concerning passengers and road trips.
