Hi guys, I know this topic has been brought up many times but can't seem to get a definite answer… I know it can be personal preference but after all, what is the most popular pad for track days? I'd swap the pads before my track days, so noise isn't really an issue for me. I track about 6 times a year. Car is currently stock suspension and power wise, i don't plan on changing that unless i go full coil over… Don't want to put lowering springs, LOL. Thinking a track set of wheels and tires too. I was thinking PFC08 but i'm not sure… :

I just put in PFC11s & SRF and they’re pretty fantastic. I only had one actual dry session (and 3 miserable wet sessions) and that combo stops on a dime and didn’t fade at all. I still have a lot of room to brake harder/later too, very excited to get back out again. I’m also in a CS that is otherwise stock.

As a note, pre track day I had no noise on the street with the 11s… post track day they are nightmarishly loud. Definitely swapping the stock pads back for extended street duty

Great, that's what i wanted to hear. I'll try out the PFC11.

it's hard to go wrong with the PFC11 pad, it's a full race pad that somehow is pretty quiet on the street. A track pad will never be completely quiet, but it's pretty damn good

I love the PFC11 as well but the PFC08 handled the heat of my stock brake setup a little better.

Highly recommend Hawk pads as well. DTC60 for stock suspension.

I have PFC08's now (which I've loved outside the squeal) and my instructor recommended Hawk DC60 or 70 for next set. How do the Hawks compare to the PFC08's? I know they're cheaper, but how do they compare from a longevity, bite, squeal perspective?

Never used them in the BMW but they're one of the best race pads.

Although they're cheaper - they come packaged/wrapped/tied together better than any other brand that I've used. My only point of reference on the same car is Hawk v Ferodo & Pagid. Hawk is superior.

They squeal a little bit (DTC60 or 70) but once they get bedded in nicely, I rarely hear them.

Another one to vouch for PF08/PF11, they're hard to beat. Out of laziness, I've stopped swapping pads between track days and daily drove on PF08/11 without issue. The do peep once in while but nothing that was too annoying. The slap in forward/reverse transition is more annoying IMO but still very bearable.

PF08 are a bit less aggressive than the PF11 but last a little longer and are less abrasive for the rotors. The choice between the two resides on personal preference, driving style and tracks driven.

100%

If you are an intermediate driver the 08s are ok, but if you are fast, these cars are heavy and pretty fast, so i run the PFC11s.

Speaking of, has anyone been able to source PFC11's recently? As soon as I got wind a few weeks back there may be some supply issues, I placed an order for 11's at CMS and it's still in limbo...

Bought mine from BW about a 1.5 months ago - they shipped directly from PFC

I suggest you call BW. They're the ones with the strong relationship with PFC
