Missing plug in engine bay

Saw this on a m3 I just picked up anyone know what it's supposed to go to? It's attached to the headlight harness

On my car i cant tell what it connects to. it appears to go down between the plastic wheel well and the headlight. I am guessing it might be for the adaptive headlight sensor or power wire for the headlight washer motor. when i remove the fan to replace my idler pully and belts i'll try and see if that gives more room to see further down to what it connects to. good luck.

That whole area has been messed with. Is the cloth tape just falling off closer to the center of the car?

To help answer your question, I'd peal back the electrical tape and see what colors the wires are.

I'd honestly pull that wrap off to see what is going on there. Maybe someone tapped something to connect something and then uninstalled it and cut the wire? In that case maybe those wires aren't needed. Maybe they did cut factory wires going to something? It's kind of hard to tell.

I'm getting low beam error on that side that popped up on my way home from buying the car (ordered the bulb already), tpms (I'm assuming no sensors on the shitty wheels it's got on rn, waiting on my 359s to come in) and airbag light but that's from something else
