FYI: Affordable front brake cooling setup for your perusal...

Over on the Classified section, this Swedish chap Westersund has a homemade, 3D-printed, control arm scoop-based cooling kit for the front of the F8x. Perhaps not as big-gun as a front-mounted setup, but given the constraints of the logistics of that, along with the price point he's offering his kit at, definitely worth checking out. I advised that he post here himself, but he expressed reluctance to not spam other sections -- so I figured I'd do it for him!

Nylon printed ducts and a bit of work with an angle grinder on the OEM dust shields.

Isn't that a NACA Duct directly inline with the scoop?

There is no NACA duct here. I did verify with a wind meter placed into the hose that there is a 50mph wind stream.

Looks like Magnus Thomé's (Founder of Rejsa) control arm ducts from Thingiverse. Might be wrong, but the design is very similar.

Nice that you verified that the air flow is good in this kind of brake cooling design.

Yup that's them. I am thinking of changing the model a bit to use a 2.5inch flange as right now it uses a 2inch flange. Also, It took me quite a bit of time to get them printed with nylon. Nylon is a way to go as PETG or ABS might be too brittle in case a contact with a curb happens.

I'd say it all depends on the design (ground clearance and brittleness) and you can fit a 2,5 inch hose but it's tight, you can look in my thread and you'll find some pictures.

I am running a 2.5 inch hose. I just need to change the 3D printed duct to make it a big bigger.
