2018 M4 30k km Extended Warranty or No?

Hey yall,

Buying a 2018 M4 Ultimate Package currently with 30k km, warranty until Sept 2022, debating if I should finance in the extended warranty Sept 2025 100'000km $4630 CAD, roughly $100 difference on my monthly payment.

Do you guys think its worth the hassle-free nature, anyone had major issues before 100k km? Is it better to just spend $1g on crankhub and skip the warranty? Won't be modding the car in any way as it already comes loaded with the MPE, had a base M4 prior and only thing missing was the sound for me.

I weighed similar options when I purchased out my leased 2018 F80 earlier this year. Nothing beats peace of mind with extended warranty.

I opted to skip the extended warranty and instead got the Ultimate Care Scheduled plan which extends standard CBS for another two years for only $899. For example, it covered my 3yr/30k service (plugs/oil change/air filters) this week which at a BMW dealer will cost $1500-2000 (crazy).

The F80 platform has proven to be pretty solid and my opinion was that saving that $4600 and repurposing it to do the preventative care items after the warranty expires like the full crank hub solution, replacing charge pipes which are known to crack/fail, and replacing the charge cooler and expansion tank since there's been known issues with it leaking.

I would look at what warranties are still provided once the standard warranty expires. In the states depending on which state we live will determine what type of federal or state mandated warranty on parts like emissions. I did not extend my warranty when the standard one ended and ended up using the 7/70k mile warranty to cover a top mount intercooler and a new valve cover due to the PCV system screeching. I just ticked over 72k miles.

Comes down to personal preference + luck, I recently purchased a 2017 M4 as well with a $5000 extended warranty for 5years/60k miles, and it was a lifesaver because the power steering rack completely malfunctioned 1 month in and had to be replaced (would've been like $6000 if I wasnt covered)
