Installed LCI taillights- Nothing on the trunk works now

No inner lights, no backup can, and no ability to open the trunk with a switch. Wiring harness instructions followed to a T. Haven't tried coding yet, but getting brake light malfunction light. What's the most likely culprit?

The only help I can offer is the inner lights won't work until you do the coding. The rear taillight error will be resolved once you code.

The other issues, I have no idea. Perhaps someone can chime in who has done the conversion, or possibly tom @ eas

Outer taillights and signals work fine. But nothing related to the trunk works. Pins are in 5 and 13 as specified. Hellllpppp

Do the coding first, then come back if you are stilling having issues.

Remember you may need to update your REM module too.

I hope i don't have to update the REM, because that's beyond bimmercode. Tonight i will try using bimmercode to change over everything to LED taillights, but i have my doubts that this will fix the trunk and camera issue.

Has anyone had a similar problem where nothing worked on the trunk after wiring in LCI tails? I am so lucky i folded my back seats prior just in case- right now i can only open my trunk with the emergency pull in the trunk!

I'm having the same issue. Trying to upgrade to LCI rear lights on my F36

I am using a harness adapter I bought off ebay to make the inner lights to work, but I can't seem to get it to work.

So tomorrow I will try a complete LCI cable from BMW, if that works then the ebay harness must of been faulty. If it doesn't work, then I'm shit out of ideas. Probably end up metering the wires & tapping into whatever I need to to power the inners.

Check fuses and check REM module. Not possible that TRUNK doesn't work after putting headlights

THIS is something we have in common then- I used the ebay harness also! i didnt tap into the outer lights, i followed the BMW harness instructions, as the bmw OE harness doesnt tap into the outer lights either. Maybe the cables themselves are faulty?

I'll let you know how tomorrow goes when I get my new cable from BMW. I hope it works or that's another £140 wasted.

Another member on here has reported a faulty ebay harness, he bought a complete loom from BMW = problem solved.

I contacted the seller on ebay but he fobbed me off saying he's sold loads of these adapter harness's with no problems, must be installer error.

I think he's got a bad batch or somet if this turns out to be the same for you also.

Make sure the connectors that were removed are inserted back and locked into place. Also check for bent pins.

New loom in. No coding. The inners power up! Yes! No indicators though, so...

Re-coded everything to the T again from the coding provided by UKF30 (thanks again for that) as it was coding that made everything work properly.

Everything working perfect now = happy days!

Now I need to recoupe some money back for this crap ebay harness but overall I'm chuffed to bits now it all finally works.

Thanks to everyone who helped.

Good luck in getting yours sorted, this is what worked for me.

Well guys, i feel like an idiot.

I was rushing to button up the install Sunday morning to get home in time for the game, and it looks like the issue was i didn't fully plug in the REM module

Put the trunk back together, used bimmercode for LED tails- I didn't do the full length turn signal code, as i just wanted to get the error codes out for now. It still does the bulb check, but atleast i know this wasn't a wiring issue!

It happens.

If the inner tail portions are not blinking, the REM module needs updating (Bimmercode can't do this).
