F10 M5 Nurburgring trackday
Hi all,
Just thought I'd share a few pics of my recent trip to the Nürburgring, I did a full trackday in the M5 and it performed flawlessly all day, that's in addition to it also doing a ~1300 mile round trip of which there were quite a few Autobahns... (managed 197mph before I bottled it as it was getting bumpy!) Clearly the M5 is not a track car and it felt a little cumbersome in some of the tighter sections but overall it performed really well and the punch/power out of the corners not much is staying with it. Tyres and brakes have taken a beating but that's what they are for! Mods on the car - H&R lowering springs, spacers, modified (by PCW) rear backbox, Exhaustmeister valve. Anyway thought I'd share Last edited by Juliana19; 08-28-2020 at 07:34 AM.. |

Congrats, amazing pictures and certainly a very special experience. Living in Germany and traveling the Autobahn every day, it becomes almost common and I often forget the unique speed situation here in my country. I literally warm up my M5 and then hit a long stretch of unlimited speed sections on the A7. Our cars were built to open up top and they shine on the Autobahn, many high performance cars are shocked by the top end power of our cars.
I had several M cars while living in the US and I was ok with the speed limit, but now I can't imagine not hitting 150+ mph basically every day. And it's great to know that our heavy beasts can manage to put a hurt on track cars 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 |

Awesome! Not going to lie, though, my first thought was, "what the **** is a 'backbox'??"

Great pics - thanks for sharing.
I'm very jealous of your ability to drive TO the 'ring - it's such an awesome track with so much variety to it. I've driven it in a rental (https://www.rentracecar.com/en/ringtaxi-rental/) but it'd be that bit more special to drive it in your own car. |

Awesome! Thank you for sharing! As an American I've driven the Ring in my F10 M5 too. It's a great Ring car!
Any more pics of your ride?

Euro Delivery is now over, and no American will likely ever do it again. I'm glad I got the chance to do it once.

Yep thanks for clarifying, must be a British thing but that’s what we generally call the rear part of the exhaust (or muffler!)

I'm still somewhat new to owning the platform. I've lurked for a while before buying but I just thought it was something I was unfamiliar with....not a different term based on region. Thats for the clarification.
