Driving with side brake on, how bad?

So my wife had to drive my M3 for the first time due to an emergency. It's a DCT so I told her to drive in auto mode. Couple minutes later she calls and says "I backed out of the drive way but the car really didn't want to move." So basically she drove out of the drive way in reverse with side brake fully engaged. I don't blame her since she's new to a car like this. Now, how bad is this for the clutch (DCT) or the side brake? No need to worry?

The handbrake on An e9x is like an old drum brake.. she might have glazed it over a bit but it should survive. Time will tell on the clutch.. go boot it around and see how it acts but I'm sure it's fine.

You'll be fine. Think of those that do standing burnouts and our cars don't have line locks - the rear pads are continuously making contact, as you feather the brakes to let the front pads grab so you're standing still while letting the rears smoke. The car still runs fine after. Your wife just skimmed the top of the pads and rotors of the rears.

If you think that's bad, when I had my Lexus ISF dyno'd the operator left my e-brake on for a full pull up to 170+ MPH. I thought it was strange the car only made 275whp

Afterwards there was tons of smoke coming from the rear, he just shrugged it off like no big deal.

bruh tow truck drivers drag cars with the ebrake up and in park, its not worth worrying about. if in the future the hand brake doesnt hold the car as well its an easy diy repair.

Just the driveway, i wouldn't worry. You could still milk it to earn more good husband points for forgiving your wife for making such bad bad mistake
