BMS Angle Cut Exhaust Tips
Hi, quick question on the angle cut exhaust tips:
Is it normal that the interior socket of the tipps is straight while the end of the exhaust pipe is slanted so that the tipps do not fit even on the exhaust pipe and that it looks like this: Note: On the top side (of the interior) there is no gap between the exhaust tipp and the exhaust pipe, and the gap is getting bigger going down. In this picture on https://burgertuning.com/products/bm...-tips-set-of-4 it looks similar on the M5 (you have to zoom in), but it somehow seems odd to me... With respect to the OP's tips: Unfortunately, that's kind of what you get with slip on tips. Unless you get a tip that wraps around the inside of the stock tip (like the original BMS), they're all going to look like that. You can cut the stock tips to be straight cut so that it's less noticeable, but then you either need to push the tip in all the way and the fitment will look dumb and tucked in, or you extend them so far out that it looks just as dumb. You could also cut the stock tip to be much farther inward, but then the slip on tip loses leverage and rigidity and may sag or fall off altogether. I realize this option isn't available to everyone, but for the price these slip on tips cost, it's REALLY worth the effort to find a local fabricator who can weld on any tip you want - parts & labor are going to be just about the same as the MSRP of most of these. I can appreciate the ease of installation these provide, but it limits your options and you get compromised execution like the OP's photo. Last edited by ntg44; 04-28-2020 at 05:52 AM.. |
