Can it be retrofit?Or will it be cheaper to just try a DCT next year with this fancy stuff in it, realise what a douchebag I was to make the swap and get a 6 speed in '10?

Quit putting your damn fingers on the screen! I'm going to retrofit a tazer in the casing to zap people who do that in mine.

But it's a HUGE improvement for the joe-consumer who has an iPod mentality and finds stuff like this more important than the car itself.

Being honest, it does look more complicated.

The problem with what you are seeing in this video is it's solely how the screen looks, not how much easier the extra buttons around the knob make things. I know from using the MMI system of Audi's that this will be a vast improvement over the old system.

Although I'm sure the end user experience has improved and things are easier, its certainly jammed packed with functionality. I'm sure many people won't neccesarily use the new features, but I fear at the same time many people will also be confused.

BTW, I wasn't sold on the Audi MMI either. I found the thing painful to use.
