Track Day with the M
Took my stock E92 M3 to Snetterton Race Track last Friday and had an AWESOME day! The car performed fantstically well and just goes to show what a great job M Division have done to create such a fun toy straight out of the box. The grip from the Michelin PS2's and the handling was just superb
Here's a few pics from the day |

Great pics I am sure you kicked A$$ and took names at the track
Great track pics, I am sure most of the cars there did not stand a snow balls chance in hell against you.

Nice: How were the brakes performing(after some laps) and how about the (FRONT)tyres after a few laps? I'm worried about that
Chris Harris(autocar mag) found out after a few laps, he didn't have any braking power left(his own white E92 M3 vs 997 GT3 and Nissan GTR) LOL |

Yes I saw the Chris Harris stuff! Scary!
The brakes didn't let me down once, they were brilliant. I did feel some judder on a couple of occasions but that was me braking a little too late. The tyres were the most impressive and having taken a couple of passengers, they commented that my grip and handling was far superior to some other cars on the track which included and E46 M3 and a E92 335i (both on Bridgestones) All in all I was very impressed. Note that I was only on track for 20 minutes at a time as it was a sessioned day. Next test is the Nurburgring this weekend |

Man, seeing your pictures has me itching for my car to get here so I can get it on the track. Your car looks really good next to those regular 3ers -- much more aggressive.
I saw a soft-top 350Z in one of your pictures. I'm surprised that they let it on the track. Can't wait to see pics and hear your report from the Nordschleife. |

Great write-up.
It's good to hear another confirmation of the M3 's bone-stock track abilities (although I'm sure the brakes would show their limits rather quickly on certain tracks). Take care at the Ring - I've never driven it but from what I hear it can be rather intense and exotic traffic.

lol, no the Stig was not there that's me!!
I have driven the Nordscheilfe before in an E90 but not yet in my E92 M3. I won't be driving as hard as the Track Day as the Ring is very daunting and extremely intense. 140 corners over a 10 minute lap!!! |

Nice pics. I also tracked my M3 today. Here in Finland we have five full-scale tracks in the whole country (one per million capita). During weekdays, only few guys have time to go drive, so we have plenty of room. Today there were 2-3 bikes and I as an only car driver. Motopark track is quite nice 3,5 km long circuit. It costs 60 euros for a car and I got the whole day fun from 11 am till 6 pm. The bikes left afternoon, so I and my friend had the whole track to play privately with M3.
M-DCT sucked almost all the time. About 50% of downshifts worked, the rest of left paddle pulls did nothing. You really can't hunt trackrecords with that gearbox. Upshifts worked nearly always, there's nothing wrong with them. S5-MDM was used all the time. I also saw 2-3 times sudden jump to 6th gear when trying to downshift 3->2. But this has already been debated, so no more about that. Brakes got some serious heat and started to develop smoke when changing the driver, so after the hardest laps I had to got to have some extra cooling laps. I also noted some fading and couldn't fully trust to brakes are hard laps. Anyway, it was really fun to have some hot laps at empty, "private" track. You can see weather from pics, not bad at all!
