The install was done by Jim @ 'Sound in Motion' Allston MA
Install was flawless.

wow! you can hardly see that camera in the back. that screenshot looks sweet too. is there any other place to hide the passport code though? i think it would bug me in that location (i am an OEM freak when it comes to interior mods)

I picked that location because its easy to reach and I can remove it if/whenever I sell the car

I was surprised to see that there is a reversing camera retrofit for e90 and e92 listed in the BMW parts catalog.
Assuming you have navigation the part numbers are:
66 21 0 412 010 + 66 21 0 406 999
I have no idea if they are actually available.

another ? do you have PDC? and if so does it still beep when you get close to an object?
its a cool mod but more so for those who didn't opt for PDC as an option...

I have PDC, It still works, just beeps.

So how much was the part and install? Also, regarding the Passport - I have the BEL STi Driver detector and I had a custom wiring harness made that is only a tiny mute button. Total for parts is < $1k and installion will vary based on who you use. They installed the Passport remote also. I'm all thumbs so I feel better letting a installer do it.

Nice! I loved the backup camera option when I test drove an S5. Seems like a great add to this car. And I think I'll install my X50 remote in the same location when I hardwire it. Hadn't thought about that spot.

Slightly OT, but Jim and the guys at Sound in Motion are awesome. They did a nice stealth install of a kicking audio system in my previous car. Didn't really appreciate the level of workmanship until I uninstalled it myself before I traded the car in. Total attention to detail even where you can't see it. Everything behind the panels, under the carpet, and in the engine bay was neatly sleeved, clipped, routed, etc. Not a single wire out of place.
