Scanners and reset

My M4 and wify's X5 (F15) will be out of warranty come next year. I plan on working on the cars myself like did with my old x3 and 335i. In the past I had a BT cable which did the job. Saved me a lot time and money when it came down to performing repairs and maintenance. Which scanner do you guy's recommend to have. I have been looking at the Foxwell NT530 scanner but want to know if there are other good ones that do the same or better for the price. I do not plan on doing much in terms of upgrades other than buying some K&N filters for both cars.
