M performance electronic steering wheel issues...*

Replaced my steering wheel couple days ago to the m performance wheel. New carbon paddles, and new paint match trim, I connected everything but the heated connection because that wheel isn't heated.i put it all back together and noticed the tachometer lights and mini lcd screen don't come on. I long pressed the left and right buttons together and nothing.im frustrated now cause I need the car back for caliper painting b4 it's use for a car show display car.i know the dealership would kill me in price but what choice do I have.

There’s a m perf wheel installation thread that references some of the gremlins that accompany the wheel. You may find the answers you’re looking for there.
I had an issue with my wheel that is similar to what you’re describing. It is intermittent. I wasn’t able to resolve it.

Garage List
This is probably more information than you need, but when the steering wheel is showing symptoms of it, the control module that sits in the passenger side footwell (for the wheel itself, not the FEM), for whatever reason doesn't interpret the "wake-up" signal from the PT-CAN bus.

FAQ:
Q: Is there a fix for it?
A: No.

Q: Will warranty cover this repair?
A: Yes, but it won't fix anything.

Q: What do I do next time this happens?
A: Shut the car off, open the door, close the door, start the car. It should work now. Worst case, unplug the battery for 15min and reconnect.

Edit: I'm sorry - I realize this post is a few months old. Just added for info in case future people are curious.
