Front Lip Installation Question - Please Advise

Hey everybody,

Installed a CS lip on my M4 today, figured the only way to do this was to remove the bottom rubber and BMW plastic cover under the bumper (not sure if this has an actual name or not).

Just wanted to see if this was normal, and if so, leaving this exposed won't conflict with rocks/water getting to areas they shouldn't and ruining something right? Apologies if this has been answered before.

Some photos after the install! Really happy how this turned out. Lip is from RW Carbon, highly recommend!

I also installed an RW Carbon CS lip. What I did was remove those plastic pieces with the rubber on them and cut off the rubber. I also used a dremel to grind down the plastic lip so it was flush. I then screwed those plastic pieces back in so the lip would mount flush. I didn't want to leave those plastic pieces off. I too am very happy with the install.

I also took those off, but seeing how people are trimming them to fit I am going to do the same once I have some time.

You want that bottom piece to maintain the car's aerodynamics, plus without you will have visible holes between the bumper and the lip. Just trim with an exacto knife and dremel, then re-install

I installed the CS lip on my gf's m3. Fit perfectly without having to remove the 2 lower rubber pieces. Nor did i have to do any trimming.

Mine has been sitting in a box for a week while my car sits at the body shop after getting rear ended. It arrived on my birthday just a couple days after my accident. I miss my car 😩

Well its not a CS rep lol. Look closer. This is the China design they try to pass off as CS rep but its not even close to the same style

Another question to anybody who has done this or is familiar - if I unscrew the lip to add some splitters, will the screws from the lip to the bumper still fit snug if they're going into the same holes?

Close enough i suppose? Shit for $270 i'm not complaining. As long as my gf likes the lip on her M3.

But it looks identical. Don't know why you think it's not even close?

Just what I was looking for... I went to Ikon in city of Industry CA today to check out their version of the CS lip and it's really thick all around. Looks great... I've held an OEM CS lip and it's a good replica with the exception of being too thick. My M4 is on H&R super sport and it sits way too low with the thickness of this lip. I'm coming from the Vorsteiner which is extremely aggressive... due to the thickness of the Ikon it sits about the same if not lower then the Vorsteiner.

Would anyone with the RW or any other rep please compare the measurements?

Yeah it's the same as the one I got my gf's m3. It's super thick which is good. And sits lower than the v style on my m4 that's on h&r's

Yeah it's the same as the one I got my bf's m3. It's super thick which is good. And sits lower than the v style on my m4 that's on h&r's

Are you asking on the difference of how low it is compared to the vorsteiner style lip? If so, imagine it sitting just a tad bit lower on my girl's m3 that's sitting on Eibach springs. Which everyone knows Eibach doesn't sit very low at all. Compared to the H&R sport on the M4

Sorry I don't have a link. I didn't buy it online. My friend imported it from Taiwan for me. He doesn't tell me who his supplier is. I just asked him to look for it for me.
