Ideal tire size
Hey everyone,
I'm looking at getting new wheels and tires as my current setup can't handle the power of the mhd stage 2 tune. Currently I have a square setup 18x8 wheels with 225/40/18 Continental Control Contact Sport. What size tires can generally hold the stage 2+ mhd tune off the line while also giving me at least better traction in wet weather? I'm willing to stagger. I just need more traction with not too much under-steer. I've thought about the 1 series specific Arc 8's with 235 front/ 265 rear. or is 225 front/ 255 rear enough to hold the power of the tuned n54? Thanks. |

I like my 275/35/18 mp4s. Great traction, decent sidewall height for straight line, wet performance is phenomenal.
But you'll need wider wheels and at least a 245 up front which requires more work. 225/255 should be fine.

Assuming you're running the 1 series specific Arc 8?

If you're willing to do the fender work and add negative camber, look into the 18x9et42 with 255/35/18 up front.

Good call, I'll see what they might have. Did you roll your fenders/add camber? I'm a little concerned about the uneven wear with negative camber as I'm slightly on a budget and can't burn through tires. I don't track it but drive it fairly aggressively on mountain roads nearby.

That said.. set toe to stock and it'll wear basically like stock. Toe eats tires not camber. My fenders are rolled, slightly pulled and trimmed.
