Does this charger work well?
Hi,
Want to flash my car back to stock and lock DME (BM3). Last time I did this, I bricked my car in my driveway for an entire day before BM3 was able to help. Don't want that to happen again. Was wondering if this charger works for the Li-On battery on the M4. CTek is on backorder & I cant wait that long as my service is scheduled for Tuesday. Thank you! small update/edit.
the tender/charger i referenced works great, but there might be a case where you need one with more power. today i was having my car remoted tuned and i managed to run the battery down, even with the charger connected. the car was on, but not running, for over an hour... i'm now looking at the g26000 |

I had the Ctek and it works flawlessly.
Then, I found Duracell branded charger in Costco few days ago. They support Lithium battery and priced @$44.99

I use the Genius G7200 and it works great. If you plan to store your car for any extended period of time, I suggest you do not leave anything plugged in to the OBD port. I made this mistake last winter and ended up buying a new battery in the spring.

Will it work for the F80? Might go that route.

i have a 3.5amp tender/charger and my battery died after a 1~2 hour tune session. just ordered a 26amp tender/charger to avoid any battery-related issues in the future.
order this: NOCO Genius G26000 12V/24V 26 Amp Pro-Series Battery Charger and Maintainer overkill, yes, but it took my little 3.5amp charger a long-a** time to recharge the battery. also, the factory battery in the f8x is not cheap, so spending a little money upfront will save a lot of money in the long run. |
