Rear view camera while driving

Is there a way to have the rear view camera active while driving forward?

I believe that has to be coded. Why would you want to have rear view camera on while driving?

For me, while driving, it would be very useful to watch the status of the inertial trailer brake: when the trailer attachment is "compressed", about one inch of travel, the trailer brakes are active until the repulsion spring of the trailer elongates again the attachment and releases the trailer brake.

This is of great importance when driving downhill: it pays to briefly accelerate to "separate" the trailer from the car and so release the trailer brakes, but without visual confirmation, it's guesswork.

And while driving downhill the trailer brakes may get so hot that the grease in the wheel bearings liquifies, the bearings overheat and in severe cases a trailer wheel loss is possible.

So, I'd love to watch the hitch status at certain moments while driving but I have not found a way to do so.

You could try adding that functionality via the Carly app.

It's easily coded and stays on for about a minute after you start driving. Can switch between the rear view and the top view.
