Concealed Carry in California

Pretty much impossible to get a ccw in lib California. The difficulty level/laws are by county. LA and SD are essentially impossible. Orange County is possible and slightly more lenient, but still difficult - you need good cause. I imagine Oregon is not much better

Oregon is quite simple. Take a lecture class and pay the nominal fee. Lousy cross-state reciprocity though.

I live in Nevada and Utah. AKA the wild wild West. They just walk around with guns in holsters out in the open after they tie their horses up. Errr, I mean park. Need to be careful out here who you mouth off to or threaten.

Yup same here in Arizona. No reason to be acting a fool anyway.

I don’t always carry, but when I do it’s a sig229 SAS .40, OWB under loose black T shirt.

Yea.. it's a sad shame but in today's world I feel you have to be prepared to defend yourself. At the very least your house. Although I was burglarized three years ago and they found two of my three hidden pistols preloaded with hollow points and stole them. I'm actually glad I wasn't home as it could've always turned out worse.

I hope you have a quick access safe now! That's one of my biggest fears is them finding my weapons and using it against us or other people.

wow, that must have been really hard to come home to.

I liked it better when this thread was about keyfobs

That being said, I’m planning to take a safety class to be able to keep a shotgun in my home (I would rather spray down a hallway with a bunch of shot rather than have to aim and shoot a pistol, if it’s a stressful situation)

May I suggest a collapsable stock and extended mag? I find my pump 20ga more manageable than a 12 semi. The cocking of a pump action alone might scare off the wrong kind of company without even letting off a shot.

Agreed the sound of a pump makes it the best home defense weapon out there.

I agree with the other suggestion but I also think while you are considering feedback, I'd recommend leaving your state...lol Come to a state that believes in the 2A. You'll love it, I promise!

It's not CA's fault that a Republican passed the Mulford Act and basically set the tone for decades of chipping away the 2nd.

Honestly, getting a ccw is not hard at all in OC. Basically, you just can't have a criminal history and be mentally sound... Which id say is reasonable.

For everyday carry, reliability over fashion boys. No exceptions.
In your stay home crown armory, you can carry/shoot any funny rounds you desire.

Slightly more lenient? OC has a 98% approval rate for CCW right now. I got mine

It really depends on which county. If you don't live in a liberal county it is usually really easy. I got my CCW from Sacramento and it was super easy.

I live in Orange County. What would constitute good cause? How about I just want to be able to defend myself and my family?

For Sacramento, all I wrote was "self defense." Nothing else.

You might want to check Calguns.net CCW section and check how strict they are with OC.
