Mod-Steering button features

Is there a way to reach the driving mode change from the steering wheel buttons ?

Disassemble the steering wheel buttons module, cut the lines going from the buttons, as module sends commands via bus, connect wire to the buttons contact pads, run the wires and repeat on the other module drive selector side lol.

Or create a module with intercepts commands over the bus from the steering wheel and converts them to the drive select commands, lol.

Everything is possible if you really want it. The question is if it worth it.

Isn't this what the M1 and M2 buttons on the F85 essentially do?

Everything is possible for the right amount of money and time. Can you just simply code it as an option? No. Can you try to re-invent the wheel and somehow retrofit F85 system? May be, but I personally don't see any sort of huge benefit of moving it to the steering wheel.

When I did the steering wheel swap on my e70 and bought the M steering wheel with the M1 and M2 buttons I had car systems make a custom program so the buttons turned on steering wheel heat and recirculate feature,
Anything is possible. But like others have said how much money you want to throw at it.

Personably I would love to have the button on the steering since I find the location odd and not reachable when you need it the most.
