2008 135i Convertible Top replacement
The previous owner of my car did a slap dash repair of his rear window, which has now failed. Sadly the "fix" also resulted in the fabric top being torn around the bottom of the window.
Has anyone here replaced the top themselves? Are there any steps that might catch me off-guard compared to replacing the top on any other car? I have access to an affordable perfect condition 2011 top that I'd like to swap. I can't imagine it's any more difficult then replacing the valvecover or engine mounts (what a pita). I can't seem to find any literature about the DIY on this site, or any other for that matter. Just a lot of people loosing their gourd about how much they were charged to do it. Thanks! |

I was doing some Googling before I bought our convertible, I found a place that makes replacement tops for much less than OEM, and they had replacement instructions on their web site. Keep hunting, you'll find it!
