AA Midpipe or Equivalent and Warranty Risk
Hello,
Looking for views on whether installing the AA midpipe section to my otherwise completely stock 2018 F80 M3 ZCP will present a high risk of BMW voiding warranty in the event of a claim on turbo/engine. I appreciate modify at your own risk, pay to play and all that, but also interested in where this mod might be placed on the scale of risk. Thanks for views in advance! |

Dealership must prove that their was correlation between your AA exhaust and your hypothetical damage motor or turbos. And this is true to all mods. A couple months ago my Differential went out and was covered by warranty. Honestly, I wasn't the least worried because I have Coilovers among other things. But if you have a tune and your motors goes kaput, then I would probably sleep with one eye open. Cheers.

If you have an engine problem, just refit your stock exhaust before you take in to the BMW dealer and there's no warranty issue, you've never altered it. I bought a near new second hand exhaust to modify and kept my original in tact to prevent the potential for warranty issues.

Like others have said the risk should be very low and only in instances where a direct correlation can be drawn between the problem you're having and the midpipe contributing to said problem.
My car is *still* at the dealer for multiple warranty repairs and have not had an issue. I have AA midpipe and Remus axleback. This is even with the charge-cooler having to be replaced. |

It will not affect any other component of the car, should be a safe mode.
If you ever have a problem with the midpipe, dont go to BMW. Contact your vendor or Active Autowerke direct as this part is warrantied by them
