HP/TQ oscillation ideas? '16 F80

Hello,

I was hoping to get some thoughts on why this oscillation may be occurring on my '16 M3 with a Stage 1 Hex Tune. It's got 21k miles, and no CELs or anything else going on that I'm aware of. Unfortunately, we weren't tied into the boost so I'm unable to verify what exactly it was doing. We went into dyno mode which locks the rear diff and turns off traction control.

The thoughts of the shop was that the it was overboosting, wastegate released too much, tried to get back to it's set point and overboosted again causing the PID to go into a wobble. Makes sense to me, but I was hoping someone else had encountered this. Thank you!

On mine, it turned out to be a wastegate actuator.

That was also a thought that VF had... you happen to remember the part number by any chance?

Yep, that's it. They are fairly pricey.

Dropping it off tomorrow morning at the dealership to take a look. Not sure if they'll cover it under warranty or not.

Dealership said they couldn't find anything wrong with the wastegates...which I think all they did was tie into it and check stored faults/CELs. I was watching the dash cam footage of while it was there and it never went up on a lift and I didn't see anyone digging around under the hood.

Waiting to hear back from the software engineer at VF Engineering. Could being at altitude (Denver) influence the way the tune/wastegate operates?

Quick update if anyone manages to find this searching the forums...got it on a different dyno and all is fine. It seems the oscillations were related to the sensors on the previous Dyno acting up.
