How do I remove the cover from the fuse box in the engine bay?

Is there a trick to removing the fuse box cover underhood (passenger side cowl area by the red “+” terminal)?

I got the cover loose but could not get it out under the bracing without literally breaking something, and I needed to get to a couple fuses in there. Tried everything. Are you supposed to remove the M car bracing?

The only way I eventually got it out was by ham-fisting it, getting pissed, and mangling it a bit. I bent it so hard it got all scuffed up and the corner of the fuse box cover broke off. I know there's another way...

I did the same thing just fight it out and fight it in. Just be patient. I have to do it again tomorrow as I got another penny stuck in the cigarette lighter when I didn't have my charger plugged in there.

Yes, the trick is to remove the Carbon Fiber strut brace followed by the aluminum engine strut brace. It takes less than 30 minutes to remove and re-install both parts for super easy access to the fuse box.

Every time you remove the strut brace you're supposed to replace the bolts to get correct torque. I can get my cover off without it, but it's scratched pretty badly from doing it.
