Woah!!! A Surprise Tune!!!

So, I just picked up my new mistress this weekend, a '17 M3 CP and drove her 1027 miles home. The next AM my friends and I did a full detail on her and when I popped the hood, I saw an interesting sticker up by the passenger side windshield..."Dinan" I poped the cowl off and looked further into it and what do I see, a "Dinan" box staring back at me.

My question is....if it is hooked up under there, which it appeared to be, is it automatically active, or is there a switch to turn it on or off? If I run the serial number, will they tell me what level it is? As I am not the ORIGINAL owner/purchaser of the unit, will Dinan sell me an upgrade to the system, assuming it is stage 1/2?

Turn the car on and scan with your phone for bluetooth devices. Somebody on another thread or on a FB group, cant remember where, said he discovered a Dinan box on his used M3 when he noticed its bluetooth signal.

You will need the Mac IID on the app to change it from the different stages. My M4 goes back off lease next week and the new owner will have the same treat with all 3 stages ready!!

Nice surprise however I would be more concerned if you only found out about this after purchase which shows the seller didn't provide full disclosure at time of sale.

It's a Dinan though. Chances are the previous owner got it directly from a Dinan dealership.

If it was a JB4 then I would be more concerned about the non-disclosure.

Yeah i agree, he probably was not even aware of the tune
