MPSS 4s
Can't seem to find these anywhere - blackcircles etc
Does anyone actually stock them in M4 sizes?

You can find both of them at tire rack.

I meant Pilot Sport 4s.
Tirerack.com appears to be a USA company.

Having the exact same issue as you. My past searches have been unsuccessful, but I will need a new set in the coming couple of months. I was surprised to find Black circles had the PS4S in both the front and rear sizes yesterday, with BMW star rating. However, today, only the fronts are available, presumably as Blackcircles are running a 10% discount on Michelin tyres. Tyreleader have both the fronts and rears in the correct size available, however, they don't have BMW star rated tyres. If fitted, i'm not sure if there would be any insurance implications should the worst case happen, should a Loss Adjuster take issue with non-BMW rated tyres etc etc. Let me know how you get on. Would also be interesting to hear other member's opinion on running BMW fitment vs non-rated tyres. |

Tyreleader looks good - not so fussed about the star rating.

On the F30 forum many people change their runflats to non run flat (i.e. which invariably means non * rated) - I've never seen a report of any issues. The only caution I would ever give is on xDrive where a staggered wheel fitment would mean slightly different circumferences which could lead to transfer box issues - my understanding is that the * marked tyres are manufactured to within BMW agreed design tolerances - on non xDrive this isn't relevant though. But even with this I've not heard of any issues that have been confirmed as down to the tyre. Therefore my view is it doesn't matter at all and certainly not on a non xDrive car - so for now just something to keep in mind when you change out for an xDrive G8X . On F8Xs the general consensus seems to be to run MPSS on the fronts and MPS4S on the rears. This is the set-up I plan to go with when I need to replace them. MPS4S give you a significant improvement in putting the power down but on the front many claim they suffer from less rigid sidewalls and a loss in steering precision. Additionally some will also go up a tyre size (which is worth checking out if you can't source the correct size or if the next size up is actually cheaper...). |

don't suppose anyone knows what size MPSC2 tyres will fit the 20" 666 wheels for an M4 CP?

"You can't get MPS4S in BMW fitment (* star rated) for the F8X (or at least intended for the F8X). You will probably have found a size for a front non CP that happens to be a rear for another model - I don't think you will find both front & rear in the correct size (I know you won't in CP sizes). "
Probably explains why I can't find any. After my visit to Spa on Thursday I'll probably need a set for the rears
