Coded "Easy Access" seats, but can't get it to function
Hello All-
I've had a few issues coding but mostly good. I tried coding "Easy Access" using the SM2 3000 EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE to Aktiv but I haven't been able to make the seats go back when I turn the engine off to get out or move forward when I start up. Ideas? Side notes- 1. I was playing with engine sounds and have this annoying "Mini Sounds" in the settings menu now that doesn't do anything- ideas on how to remove- I think I found it thinking changing ASD/Toggling on/off from inside iDrive would be cool. 2. Has anyone gotten the "rain sense" coding to close the sunroof? 3. Does the competition package in ASD make the noise any different? 4. Anyone have any luck reading texts off iDrive? I have enhanced bluetooth coded and a new icon in external devices but it looks like an icon for something in the center console... |

awesome! Ok so that worked (I think) which leads me to the next question-
Is the "comfort access" based on the memory of a programmed seat position? Reason I asked- I kept trying to see if it would move when the engine was off and nothing happened until I opened the door- at which point (I had been moving the seat around) it went to one of the programmed seat positions (I think it was position 1). It definitively did not go all the way back. Is this correct or am I missing something? Side note- If I change the same settings in the second SM2(e), will this do easy access for the passenger seat? THanks! |

So if I code SM2(d), that’s the driver’s seat, and SM2(e) is the passenger seat? That’s how I saw it. But yes, when I got out of the car, my driver’s seat moved to the memory 1 position, not all the way backwards...not sure why.

Trying it again, it seems that when I get in and occasionally if I move the seat forward (randomly, not a memory setting) it might go back when I turn off and sometimes nothing happens. But I definitely haven’t replicated with the seat going to a memory setting and it’s not consistent.

The travel distance has nothing to do with the seat positions in the memory, and you can code your desirable travel distance. Sometimes the seat is in a position where the coded travel distance is not permissible, then it won't move.
I personally coded the amount of travel distance first, then set my 2 memories to 1) exit position and 2) drive position. That way, if the easy access is not working, I can push the botton to get them back to where I want manually. The details on the coding the travel distrance is here, https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...3&postcount=30 |

Interesting so the lack of movement might be because my position is too close to the end so it's not going to move back the programmed amount if it knows it doesn't have enough rail?
If that's the case, I'll go play with it now by moving my seat far forward and getting in and out. |

So is there something I could have missed because this definitely isn’t working as it should.
