cost to paint GTS hood

Hi all,

even though I've been on the forum for 10+ years but I've never got around modding a big piece such as a hood or trunk until now. I'm wondering how much is a fair price nowadays for a shop to paint and fit a GTS hood? My F80 is in Daytona Violet which might be a pita even though it's an old paint

I think its up to the buyer. People have such a range of prices they can throw at you but at the end of the day it depends how picky you are.

I personally am so I paid for a referred/reputable shop to take care of it. I could have prob got it cheaper some where else but rather not deal with paint match and questionable quality. I had experience before where I ended up paying more to repaint because I wanted to save a few dollars by going for a cheaper quote.

With that being said, the going rate was $700-$1100 when I was looking to paint gts hood.

This is exactly my past experience before. Saving a little with cheap route almost always bite you back somewhere somehow.

get a painter with reputation and experience to do the painting, making sure the shade and color matching perfectly ( I had my detailer check the work..) It is not a lot of work to paint the hood if you only paint one side, which j think most ppl would do.

I would not pay more than 500 USD for painting the hood ( I paid 500 CAD, and the work is great). But it is always a good idea to get referral instead of taking a chance on an unfamiliar painter.

my suggestion is to let the dealership adjust your hood and make it sit perfectly. In my case, my painter is 55 years old and he is not familiar with BMW hood work, ended up wasting time for both of us. I brought it to the dealership I know very well and paid 50 CAD for adjustment. Anything happened, the dealership will pay.

my color is Alpine White, the cost may be related with the color too.

my painter told there are three variants on my color code.

To be honest, I hate the paint on my hood, it's SUPER off in person. Especially in the shade.

The paint was part of a deal I made, and I will not blast the people who did it.

The body shops we work with did goldenmeeko's hood very well along with these:
